An Ordinance Providing For A Revenue Code For The City Of Mandaluyong (2011)

BE IT ENACTED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Mandaluyong in session assembled:

TITLE ONE
GENERAL PROVISIONS

CHAPTER 1
TITLE. SCOPE AND SOURCE OF TAXING POWER

• SECTION 1. TITLE. This Ordinance shall be known and referred to as the “MANDALUYONG CITY REVENUE CODE OF 2011”.

• SECTION 2. SCOPE. This Code governs the exercise by the City of its taxing and other revenue-raising powers.

• SECTION 3. SOURCE OF TAXING POWER. The Local Government Code of 1991, Book II, Title One, Chapter 1, Section 129 which provides: “Each local government unit shall exercise its power to create its own sources of revenue and to levy taxes, fees and charges subject to the provisions herein, consistent with the basic policy of local autonomy. Such taxes, fees, and charges shall accrue exclusively to the local government units.”
