Councilor Edward Gabriel Bartolome is the youngest local lawmaker ever elected in Mandaluyong City. At the age of 24, he committed himself to public service following the footsteps of his father, City Executive Secretary and former councilor Cesar Castañeda Bartolome.
Notwithstanding his being a neophyte in the political arena, Councilor Bartolome is trusted by his peers to handle the chairmanship of the Committee on Engineering and Public Works.
As an active member of the City Council, Councilor Bartolome authored several resolutions and local bills which address the concerns of the city residents. Among the resolutions he sponsored is the “immediate repair of all the damaged national thoroughfares in Mandaluyong” and “augmentation of policemen in the city”.
Being young and civic-minded, Councilor Bartolome also prioritizes the needs of the youth in Mandaluyong by providing regular feeding programs in various barangays. He also donated school supplies to hundreds of public elementary pupils during class openings.
He completed his primary and secondary education at the Don Bosco Technical College and obtained the degree of Bachelor of Commercial Science major in Computer Science at the Jose Rizal University (JRU).
Councilor Edward is the second child and only son of secretary Bartolome and Maria Rita Gabriel, married to Cherry Anne Magdongon and blessed with a son Edward II. He was born on November 4, 1979. |
